About this bottle

Released in 2007, Jose Cuervo Platino uses a recipe once reserved only for the members of the Cuervo family to enjoy. Distilled from 10 to 12 year old blue weber agave that is hand selected and harvested, this limited edition tequila is immediately bottled after distillation in individually numbered hand blown glass bottles and presented in a wooden display box.

Rating: 16/23 N: A bit of a peppery burn, with a little ethanol to it. An oily savoriness like Fortaleza blanco has. Hints of mint and lime. A very light applewood barbecue smoke, but it's almost imperceptible. Aside from the ethanol, this is very nice. The pepper might be a tad strong as well. P: Oily with a savoriness and sweet rich syrup flavor. A white pepper burn comes through, but it isn't harsh. I do wish that the pepper was a little more flavorful though. I'm picking up some mint and lime peel as well. There's some paperiness that has a hint of mustiness, but it tastes good overall. Occasionally, I get a surprising burst of vanilla. This is a very balanced palate, aside from a bit too much pepper. I like the richness and fullness here a lot. F: Clean with a lasting oily richness and viscosity. That core flavor lingers as a minty coolness becomes more apparent, wafting gently. - Conclusion - This is a really decadent drink that I can spend a while contemplating. It's a lot like Fortaleza Blanco (17/23), though probably not quite as good. I'm tempted to give this a 17 as well, but it could definitely be a 16.

Nice clean tequila aroma. Strong vapours of agave character. smooth strong peppery but not very green or oily, a bit on the glycerol side. Aftertaste superior. P.S. This quite blank_paper tequilawill absorb things like a lemon wedge and change it entirely, so quite unreliable in cocktails. d.s.

A clear Reserva De La Familia that’s just as good as it’s aged counterpart. Delicious, rich, smooth. Same taste as the aged version but lighter, fresher tasting. Excellent. If only it wasn’t a limited edition. Not currently available in Ontario.

A crisp Agave Spirit crafted by NOM 1122. It has an aromatic birth with notes of agave, fruits, flowers, herbs & spices, while a rich life led to a balanced death of medium length. May 2017
