Jung & Wulff No. 1: Trinidad

Tried neat. On the nares I get sweet peppers, brown sugar, maple syrup, & candied nuts. On the palate I was surprised to find it somewhat harsh initially but I think it was just unexpected. I get an earthy & vegetal flavor with notes of pepper and wood. Addendum: I would say I was surprised by the profile given my somewhat immature palate for rums. I mentally expected a sweet finish and this is not that. However, the thin, dry, leaves you wanting more finish is new to me! Eager to try the next 2 rums that were bought together to equal a beautiful case of 3 rums from Jung & Wulff at the Sazerac house in NOLA.

On the nose, vanilla, oak, caramel, black pepper and molasses. Light on the palate, peppery and lightly sweet, with caramel, vanilla, black pepper and oak.
