Gin, as much as whiskey, has personality, and no gin is quite like another. They may rhyme occasionally, but there's always something unique to be found, at least in the good ones. Take this, for example - a gin that dares to be so juniper-forward that its name is literally "juniper" in Spanish...and yet is restrained and balanced. The juniper is there, all right, but its sharp, piney edges (needles?) are softened by just the right touch of citrus. The spirit, too, is clearly of excellent make - there's a roundness and delicacy that not a lot of unaged spirits bottled at nearly 50% ABV can claim. It makes a quality g&t (and, I suspect, martini), but it's good enough on its own. At this price point, it would make a fine house gin for someone who likes classic gin flavors, but in more of a jazz timbre than a punk rock one.

N: well balanced, hints of orange and lemon, aniseed or fennel, pine, and definitely juniper P: Rich, smooth, subtle spice maybe cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, and juniper F: after the peppery note it’s herbal and a bit bitter Overall: This gin is a great take on a London Dry gin at excellent value. Anchor distilling did a solid job here and this is an easy drinker. It’s juniper forward and really carries a G&T, Martini, Gimlet, and even craft cocktails.
Just a bit over zealous with anise or fennel. It tips the normally expected balanced profile to more heavily herbal, less savory side of the gin flavor spectrum. Totally more at home in an Aviation and a tad too bold for a dry Martini. A little hot on the back end as well so, it really sticks out in every cocktail. Very unique flavor profile and I suggest that any gin explorer to give this a go.
Overwhelming juniper right up front that you can smell with the glass six inches from your nose, and I mean that in a good way. Also has a very smooth taste for being slightly overproofed for the category. Martini, G&T or on the rocks, this is top shelf if you like 'em dry.
Had this in a flight with three other gins, in order of preference: Bootlegger, Brooklyn, Botanist, Junipero. Bootlegger had the most pleasant nose. Too bad it's not rated here at time of writing this review. Junipero might make for a great mixer
Very nice - juniper forward, sort of sweet in a good way. It’s a very straight forward gin, but in a good way. The bottle I bought is much less gay looking than the one in the picture. I am gay, so I am allowed to say that.
