The nose is more enticing than the oroginal bottle which is finished in cedar cask for less time. Strong scents of vibrant oak, orange zest and honey. The pallate comes in hot and strong even for 48%. The oak os overbearing with citrus flavors. The finish is astringent and botter from the strong cedar casks and sails off in the sunset woth some vanillas flavors. This is a bit of a messy dram that is a roller coaster of a ride. There is probably a readon why cedar isnt used very often to age spirits.

Nose: Strong green apple and anise; mossy; camphor. Palate: Intense green woody notes; oily purple liquorice sticks with those pasty little sprinkles. Finish: Medium; liquorice and moss. Overal: Lacks a degree of complexity—mostly two notes of liquorice and wood.
The aroma is very different the Cesar influence is strong, which makes it rare, at least from the whisky that I have tried. A truly special flavor.
Not an every day drinker, but definitely excellent if you're looking for that strong woody taste with a sweet finish
One of the strangest whiskeys I’ve ever drank. Intense black pepper. The Japanese cedar imparts an interesting funk.
