Ketel One Botanical Cucumber & Mint

I am a whisky guy (whatever that is) and smugly scoff at vodka imbibers. At a whisky tasting, the ambassador provided samples of the new Ketel One botatanicals and I was surprised by what I tasted The nose is all cucumbers with a touch of mint (surprise) The palate much of the same. Why did I buy this you may ask (then again, maybe not)? For our beach house getaway, I thought this would be a perfect light and refreshing drink over ice, and it is. Light, crisp and refreshing.

Aromas are fresh cucumber, unmuddled mint leaves and broken twigs. A little black pepper and grain too. The cucumber is more muted on the upfront flavor and the mint doesn’t come back around until the finish and aftertaste. The flavor that replaces the cucumber is akin to watercress

Perfect summer drink! I just wish it was a big higher in alcohol content. Mix with tonic, small splash of St. Germaine and lots of lime. Perfect for hot weather!!

Tried neat and with club soda. Cucumber flavor seems overripe and overwhelms the mint. Ethanol burn is very mild, but the flavors are too much for me.

Really nice cucumber flavor and aroma with non overpowering but complementary mint notes. Great with club soda.
