Brown sugar, gingerbread, anise/licorice & cloves aroma from the bottle. Smells sweet. Dark, unmistakably rum. Sweet taste. Brown sugar. The anise flavor upsets the rum taste experience. If you're not into port wine and want a desert drink then here you go. Mixed with cola it was just too sweet for me so if looking to sweeten a drink this would be your "go to" rum. Tasting based on neat sipping.
A desert liquor I use as a lower sugar alternative to Kalua. Has a nutty and vanlla-like flavor on its own. When mixed with coconut flavors a maple taste jumps out. Mix with Coconut La Croix and have a maple bar soda... No kidding, it's tastes exactly like a maple bar donut. A great desert rum.
Sweet notes of clove, nutmeg, butterscotch, cola, and cacao nibs on the nose. Rich mouthfeel. Palate shows more nutmeg, butterscotch, cola, and cacao, along with coffee and faint lime peel. A little burn on the medium-long finish. 3.00/5.00 – Good (neat)
Near indistinguishable from brown sugar syrup. A hint of vanilla, a bit of spice when tasting, but otherwise all brown sugar. Easy (and fun) to drink.
Excellent unique rum. Like liquid brown sugar. Great for an old fashioned.
