Slightly sharp and fruity but I'm not sure what type of fruit I'm tasting. Has a warm smooth aftertaste but it does not last long.
About this bottle
Eastern Europe has a long history with Slivovitz and Maraska of Croatia is no different. Well known for their tradition of making maraschino liqueur they also make a full range of fruit-based spirits. Slivovitz, aka old plum brandy, is made from ripe, blue plums harvested from 20-year-old trees. The mash is fermented in large 2,000-gallon tanks for 3 months then distilled twice. It is then left to mature in large 500-gallon oak casks for a minimum of 2 years.

Aroma of licorice, tar, wood and fruit. Taste is sweet, honeyed, some sharpness and heat. Not bad.
This is what I expected. I really like it. Will repeat.
Some of the best Sljivovica I've tasted.
