I believe each individual has unique taste buds. I am no expert, just for leisure drinking after an exhausting day at work, or celebrating with family members or friends. At first I was hesitant to try Martell Blue Swift but based on the board’s individual review that one has to taste it to familiarize your tasting buds. Cognacs are for sipping and not for straight up shot drink. I have learned from an article to fully enjoy cognac drink one needs to sip it and exhale your breathe slowly out to your mouth discreetly. To enjoy its full essence, taste, and calming effects. This is a good starting point to drink cognac which give favorable response to your taste buds. I am adding Martell Blue Swift to my collection. The 50 ml’s are available in the market to test it, if you are not fully ready to invest a full bottle $37-$40 depending on location. For me you won’t regret it, and your next test upgrade would be Hennessy Privilege. Enjoy and drink in moderation

I especially enjoy bourbon and cognac is way up on my list. With bourbons now being finished in alternate barrels (no longer qualifies as bourbon), what if cognac were to be finished in Kentucky bourbon barrels? Well, I am a bourbon purist and have yet to find a "finished" bourbon I care much for. As for cognac, I have tried many with Remy and Courvoisier leading the pack. Martell Blue Swift gives them a run for my tastes. The best part of cognac is the nose and this one is there with rich oak and fruit. Is that French oak or Kentucky oak? Can't tell but it works. The mouth feel is maybe denser and oilyer but I like it. I get everything I want in a Cognac but can't say it is better than Remy and if price is to be considered, Remy wins
In a snifter after resting for 30 min : Nose : Raisin is the first dominant scent to greet you, then lemon drops, honey, touch of smoke, vanilla, apricots, apple, pear, medium caramel, black tea, baking spice Taste: Yields a strong raisin and balanced sweetness at the onset followed by baking spices, orange zest, vanilla and brown sugar, and ending on a moderately long finish with spice, medium caramel, black tea, ginger, and candied fruit.

This is a late check in. I tasted it in Christmas last year and I still have the bottle. It is still very much a cognac with some notes that are attributable to whisky. I get Bourbon notes and some mint (?). The bourbon cask definitely gave it an enhanced aroma. It is rich, a bit creamy, smooth and rounded in the palate. The after taste is sweet.
Blue Swift has a deep chestnut appearance, a somewhat watery consistency, and uniform alcohol legs. The aroma is of wax, pepper, nougat, lemon, a toasted oak. The flavor is of those element, with the mentholated aspects coming to the fore. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Blue Swift finishes moderate. RJT
