This is my first Mezcal. Not a good experience. Immediately, tastes like smoked balloons and department store. Instant regret. But it had enough complexity to have me pour a little more. It's interesting, in a gross way. I'll be giving the rest of the bottle to a friend.
About this bottle
Mina Real Mezcal Reposado is distilled from 100% agave espadín grown in Oaxaca. Real de Minas Distillery in Santa Catarina Minas steam-roasts the agave, saving wood and keeping the piñas (hearts) un-charred. It's twice distilled in ceramic pot stills and ages in used American white oak casks for an undisclosed time.

Very interesting but not your average mezcal. Sweet on the nose with notes of guava and rose. While this mezcal is steamed and lacks the power of smoke, it’s rounded out with the American oak it’s aged in giving it a warm woody flavor without the smoke.
