Released September 2017, this bottling from Old Potrero takes their 18th Century Style Whiskey and finishes its maturation in former stout barrels. These stout barrels have matured other products. They started off aging straight rye whiskey in charred barrels. They then held apple brandy until that was matured. Next, they were put to use aging stout beer for a year. After the stout aging, Old Potrero aged their 18th Century Style Whiskey--aged in new, toasted American oak-- and placed them in these stout barrels for six months. This limited edition whiskey is bottled at 55.4% ABV and is exclusive to California.

Not bad. Some heat at first but easily tempered with water. Pretty color like extra filtered honey. Nose brings nice notes. Some spice. Kinda like a cinnamon followed with vanilla. Mouth feel is full and then ends. Nothing special here. Would a get it again, probably not. But it’s not terrible. Just have had better
Enjoyed this immensely, a spirit that does all the right things. The flavor of apple and light hops makes you want another sip. NO need for water, you will want to savor this drinks full expression. Absolutely worth seeking out. Davidson's W&S in SF 99$
Niby spoko pod wieloma wzgledami, bardzo slodki. Problem w tym, ze dominujaca nuta sa jakies brudne skarpety czy cus w ten desen. Owszem, wzbogacone omwiele innym, juz przyjemniejszych nut, ale niestety nie moge sie pozbyc tego wrazenia slarpetowego :/
