Penny Blue XO is a single estate rum from the island nation of Mauritius. It's distilled in small batches from molasses made from sugar cane grown on the Medine Estate. The rum is released in unique batches of around 10,000 bottles and is currently on batch #004. Each release has been aged in some combination of ex-congac, ex-bourbon or whisky casks. No colors or sugar have been added to this non-chill-filtered rum.

Batch 008 Nose: Dried fruits, spices Palate: Dried fruits, spices, hint of tropical fruits, oak, bit of toffee Finish: Long, slightly fruity and spicy. Not too drying but not too sweet. Really moreish. This is delicious. I’d love to know the breakdown of the casks and the average age. 8/10
This barely qualifies as rum and that is good in this case. Think a very smooth single malt with a sugar kiss at the end. This may be heaven in a glass....
