Ron Cartavio Solera 12 Años Rum

Eye Dark amber, relative density. Slow tear in the glass. Nose Honey, Sweet, Little alcoholic presence, molasses, cocoa, cane juice. Taste Bitter cocoa, some honey memories, dense, smooth. When you open it with a little water become in a softer spirit, less silky but sweeter, bitter cocoa still feels but in smaller amounts. It is may be not the most complex or full flavor rum, however it is so much easy for sipping and drink straight up. Great stuff!!!

This is my favorite rum. On the nose one can sense coffee, sugar cane and tobacco among other elements of the Peruvian foothills. The first sip is a world of complexity with sugar cane and molasses being a compliment to roasted coffee and fine tobacco. The finish is exceptionally smooth and leaves one longing for their next sip.

Enjoying at Aranwa Resort in the Saced Valley. Okay and not nearly as good as the XO last night. Slightly less sweet, vanilla, dried fruits and sherry cask finish stand out. Recommend saving your money for the Ron Cartavio XO 18yr. Will look for XO at duty free on way home.

Sweet, with light burn in the middle, bit of banana taste (over ripe banana). On the other side of my taste (as whiskey enthusiast I like the complex taste).

Good as mixer for old fashioned. A bit bitter aftertaste following the sweetness when drunk neat
