I have been wanting to try this for a while and last weekend I finally took the plunge and picked up a bottle. With the weather starting to warm up (but not last weekend) I have turned to try new warm-weather drinks like new Gin and Tonics and Spritzers which have to lead me to new gins and the like. Seersucker Southern Style Gin is a modern gin in the lines of "Gins for people that don't like gin." in that it is very soft on the juniper and is only 84 proof so it is very easy to drink and mix even neat it is not harsh. The downside is that in a regular Gin and Tonic it is very easy to wash the gin out so be careful. In a Martini with a dash of orange bitters and half the amount of vermouth, you get a solid drink. Lastly, in a Gimlet it compliments the lime very nicely but it could be flavored vodka as the lower proof can't hold up to the lime. Overall, this is good to very good gin but it is not great. In my area, it is closer to $30 a bottle and for that price, I can get Roku or Ford's so I doubt I will buy this again. Enjoy.
About this bottle
Azar Distilling, creators of award-winning Cinco Vodka, have decided to try their hand creating a unique gin recipe. Seersucker Southern Style Gin is created using slow copper-pot distillation using the following botanicals: citrus peel, coriander seed, juniper, cardamom, clove honey, and mint. Distilled in batches, the distillate is allowed to rest before being cut with water to 84 proof, then allowed to rest again before bottling.

I have to give props where it's due here. This is definitely unique and unapologetic in its approach to creating a sweet and inviting gin. Heavy citrus: orange, lemon, lime and grapefruit are nearly overpowering with a touch of mint and coriander on the finish. It isn't necessarily something I'd reach for, and is a little too sweet for my taste, but I can't knock the hustle. This is a gin that's bold and striking in its simplicity and ambition to stand out and entice drinkers who would likely be turned off by a traditional London dry. Would definitely mix with tonic or soda with lemon and lime on a warm summer's day; this feels perfectly fit for the occasion.
Not much smell or taste, very light on the juniper. It is overwhelmed by lime, so do not use. Very refreshing with muddled mint and tonic. Good for those that dislike gin flavor.
loving the citrus lightness of this. I don't know how it would work with my traditional dirty martini, but it's great on its own and should be good cut with soda too
Pleasant surprise! If you want a gin that’s not heavy on juniper, this is an option. Strong citrus profile eschews the need for a lime garnish in a tonic.
Very nice flavor. My favorite is to pair with Topo Chico mineral water. This gin also makes the best French 75.
