Sickly sweet cinnamon on palate and finish. The worst I've had out of 60 bourbons and ryes, and incredibly overpriced to boot! Woodinville (from Washington) is a much better non-traditional bourbon from the Northwest, though it's also too sweet for me (though slightly less so). Sourced from MGP (and not very transparent about it - hence the class action lawsuit), but seems likely it was aged in Portland, OR, considering it has a sweet profile somewhat similar to Woodinville's.
About this bottle
This sourced whiskey is produced using a high-rye mash bill (65% corn, 25% rye, 10% malted barley) and brought down to proof with water from the Bull Run Watershed. Aged for at least 6 years, this is produced in small batches consisting of 5-6 barrels so proof will vary slightly.

There is a sweetness initially, like candy or a sugary drink. The flavor turns buttery then transitions to a more robust in your face spicy tone.
Slight vanilla and spice on the nose. Flavor is light for bourbon, fruity with notes of pear. Some cinnamon and a little heat.
It's an OK drink. It has personality, you taste the peppery notes in the end. Easy to drink. A bit pricey in my opinion.
Good, flavorful, and tastes like you think a bourbon should. A little harsh, though, and you can do better at the price.
4 year Bull Run Bourbon- sweet but finishing dry from that kiss of rye
