About this bottle

Teremana Tequila is a tequila brand founded by Dwayne Johnson, otherwise known as The Rock. The tequila is made from ripe agaves harvested from the Highlands of Jalisco and are roasted in traditional brick ovens for 3 days. After shredding, the agaves are fermented in an open tank and then distilled in copper pot stills. The name means "spirit of the earth"--TERE from the Latin word for "earth" and MANA from the Polynesian word for "spirit." Teremana Blanco Tequila is bottled at 80 proof.

DTA: 1613 Bottle #: FC464D Although I abhor celebrity "founded" products and distilleries, after picking my choice of blanco during a recent trip, because my wife tagged along, it was only fair that she had her pick, so here we are. I have no opinion or information regarding Dwayne Johnson, so this is just a tequila to me. The nose is strongly vegetal, with a decent punch of salt, and more of an ethanol presence than I would have expected for only 80 proof. The agave present is very young, and smells as though it wasn't entirely cooked through enough. There is just a hint of sweet citrus, and I'm hoping that this is found more prominently on the taste. The first sip definitely kills any hope that this would have an ethanol kick. In fact, this tastes more like 60 proof than 80. Because of this, the body is very watery, with the intense vegetal flavors I thought I'd find broken and misplaced. There is still a sweet salty flavor that seems to be found in most celebrity tequilas (for some reason), but thankfully, the salt is much stronger. The finish is quite dry, which would be more welcome, if there were any iconic notes found before we got here. As expected, a celebrity spirit did not hit the mark. This has the flavors and makings of a cheap, plastic bottle tequila, simply served in a glass bottle with a celebrity's name attached, allowing them to get away with selling it for more than it's worth. It seems to have done it's sole job (to sell) to both my wife and another guy from my unit who recommended it (and also bought a case of it for a wedding), but I'm hoping that they were more interested in the flair than the taste. I guess if you have a bottle, maybe watch wrestling and make a drinking game out of it, because I'm not foreseeing many other great uses from this.

A bottle was gifted to me by one of my distributer friends because I grilled out and had a tailgate on the mountain (which was a blast). I had actually heard really bad stuff about “the Rocks tequila” so i had never bought it to try. However, it surpassed the expectations i had for it. Tried neat and its smooth. On the nares I get notes of vanilla with burnt marshmallow and on the palate its like the charred and toasted part of the marshmillow which is low key my favorite part and why I always burn my marshmallows. Not a huge blanco sipper but im not mad at this one.. maybe because my expectation was set so low 🤷‍♀️

A tequila in association with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson! I actually really liked this one, as it’s probably one of the better Tequilas I’ve had. It’s very earthy, with notes of fruits and veggies! Lots of citrus, especially lime, flavors with a hint of bell pepper. Not a very smooth tequila, but there’s lots of variation and range of flavor to make up for that. I got a hint mint on the finish. Overall, I CAN recommend! Give this one a try if you’re looking for a flavorful Blanco!

Super grassy on the nose. With the cooked agave flavor there are some more subtle supporting herbal flavors. Not too sweet or too much ethanol burn. It almost has an astringent finish. This works great neat or in a Paloma. Found on sale and I am very pleased.

Idc what people say, this is a solid bottle - esp for the price. All these these hardo purists out there who immediately trash brands w/ any link to celebrities are just as bad, if not worse, than the people who buy brands solely due to endorsements.

Probably the only tequila you’ll ever need. Fresh, ultra smooth, floral/spicy notes, with subtle vanilla and citrus, crisp clean finish. I could sip this on the rocks (with maybe a little lime) all night long. Always a mainstay in my home bar.
