I am not experienced in tequila and the aromas and flavors outside the shots or margarita mixers. I purchased this for my son who still somewhat star struck and impressionable with celebrities. This seems to be a bit difficult to find as, I guess, others are just as impressionable by ‘The Rock’ and stocks are empty. Found this last bottle for my son, but of course I had to see/taste what this was all about. A slightly medicinal aroma initially greets you. As it diminishes, lemon citrus, vanilla and charcoal are the primary notes. Trace amounts of bitter dark chocolate cocoa can be detected. All in all, though, all lightweight and inviting. Soft texture which brings tropical fruits with vanilla sweetness. This is either quickly distilled or pulled early from the barrels as there is a mild prickly quality often felt from youthful spirits. Lemon and lime citrus with hints of charcoal. This fades to the finish. Over ice, the bite is tamed and more vanilla and lemon zest push forward. More of a bitterness come through on the fade. A medium finish that reminds me somewhat like the original Listerine mouthwash with some lemon zest and vanilla. This could be a starter tequila sipper. It may be a good Margarita tequila as the char adds a bit of character. A lemon thread from nose to finish. Not bad but I would seek something more. Drinkable. Not horrible and many may like and love. I prefer this over ice than neat. Worthy of a try and won’t crush you by the price. [83/100][Tasted: 5/15/20]
About this bottle
Teremana Tequila is a tequila brand founded by Dwayne Johnson, otherwise known as The Rock. The tequila is made from ripe agaves harvested from the Highlands of Jalisco and are roasted in traditional brick ovens for 3 days. After shredding, the agaves are fermented in an open tank and then distilled in copper pot stills. Teremana Reposado Tequila matures in former bourbon barrels and is bottled at 80 proof. The name means "spirit of the earth"--TERE from the Latin word for "earth" and MANA from the Polynesian word for "spirit."

This was a bit of a surprise. Poured into a 50 ml Caballito, there is a definite sweetness on the nose that carries over to the palate. This is a very smooth, if somewhat different, sipping tequila. One reviewer referred to Teremana as “tequila for bourbon drinkers”. I tend to agree that a pure tequila fan may not like this juice. Though I found it pleasant enough, I don’t think it will become my go to tequila.
Let sit for about a minute. 👀: Greenish-blond notes, thin legs; 👃: Vegetal scents as if from freshly mown lawns, sweet aroma I think it's vanilla; 👅: Whiffs of sweetness with toffee licks, not bad considering, very smooth for a bargain tequila; 🏁: Overall, the taste does not linger, vegetal taste keeps on.
Good but not great reposado. This is the tequila that you use when you ate making a big batch of margaritas for your block party. The flavor is decent but a little thin. I like Teremana’s blanco better because it is a little more grass-forward in flavor.
This actually turned out to be a good “celebrity” tequila! It’s quite smooth, perhaps a little light, with delicate flavors. It’s a little overpriced in Ontario but, compared to other products in the market it’s worth to try it.
Thanks @twostal . Nose is peppery and still green for a reposado. There’s something umami about it as well. Green on the palate, but sweet with caramel and vanilla; white pepper. Spicy finish.
