Let sit for about 5 minutes. 👀: Very pale gold with a full body, flecks of sunlight; 👃: Older agave notes abound with spiciness coming out, your typical vegetal scents, warm baking spices; 👅: Sweet with apple spice and some vanilla on the front with more sugary sweetness on the back end, nice taste without too much harsh tastes; 🏁: Short linger so you can taste other liquor without too much cross-taste, very light on the tongue, great on its own.
About this bottle
Avión Tequila revamped its packaging in mid-2018 to reflect the single origin for its agave. All agaves used in the production of the tequila is sourced from the town of Jesus Maria, located at 7,000 ft. above sea level in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, Mexico. The tequila is distilled in small batches and finished with a "proprietary" ultra-slow filtration. Each bottle is hand-filled and labeled with batch number, a bottle code, and for its aged products, the number of months the tequila is aged. For the reposado, that is 6 months in used American oak bourbon barrels.

A rich agave from Mexico aged for 6 months in oak barrels. It has an aromatic birth with notes of roasted agave, wood, earth, fruits, flowers, herbs & spices; while a rich life adds notes of cherry, peach, pear, caramel & vanilla; that led to a complex death of medium length with a touch of oak & rose petals. April 2017 / November 2019
Nose: Strong agave, apples and alcohol. Slight lemon and basil. Taste: pepper, oak and agave. Slight burn then builds into a strong leather and spice crescendo. Too much burn but a nice sweetness underlaying the flavor.
Lightly flavoured with sweet agave/tree fruit, smooth with a hint of peppery spice. Good but the light profile leaves me craving more. Similar but possibly more depth than Milagro Reposado. Not currently available in Ontario.
80 proof. Aged 6 months in ex bourbon barrels. Agave, ash, caramel, corn, charred oak, charred pineapple, molasses, animal crackers, vanilla, butter.
Has notes of char and vanilla and earth. Flavor has some hints of pear as well. Sweet and slightly burning. Very smooth and quite good.
