Total Score : 3.88 [Eng] [Nose] - Soft caramel and vanilla. - Light fruity - Bananas and sweetness at the end of the scent - Compared to the ALC, very little alchol booze. [Pallete] - Heavy - Spiciness that stings slightly. - Harsh and hot - Sweetness - A well-balanced saltiness [Finish] - hotness - Woody, thick oak scent - Sweet and strong vanilla - Pleasant warmth last long in one's mouth and throat.

NOSE Oak, baking spice, decadent baking spice, orange peels, vanilla, dried dark fruit, char, cocoa, marzipan and a touch of mustiness. Has just a hint of OBE to give it that musty dusty old feeling, but otherwise it’s a brooding oak and spice monster. PALATE Oak, cocoa, rich baking spice, roasted corn, complex dark sweets, dried dark fruit, leather, herbal, roasted grain and almonds. Dark and rustic with an elegant sweetness moving its way through. FINISH Long -> Oak, baking spice, dark sweets and a fruit

Nose: Vanilla, orange, brown sugar sweetness, smells like a finished old fashioned lol Nose after swirl: very slight ethanol burn, apple? on top of the orange Palette: Medium mouthfeel, surprising amount of the nose moves into the pallete; orange, vanilla, brown sugar... slight apothecar-ian herbal note, works wonders on the palette when drinking it while eating Rosemary Fries... wow! Finish: little to no ethanol burn AKA smooth as heck, lingers for a moment with more of the palette... beautiful daily sipper.

Got my hands on my dad's really old bottle of rare breed. This one was 108.2 proof rather than the now standard 116.8. On the nose there's a bit more ethanol, but the wild turkey barrel char is still there. The palate is sweet and rich with some really pleasant vanilla and spice. Finish is fairly long with leaving you wanting another sip.

3.5 stars - Very Good; 750 ml bottle This is a review for the old Rare Breed. Going from memory…around 10 years ago. This bottle opened my eyes to the world of premium bourbon. Rich, deep flavors. My recent bottle of the white label, barrel proof Rare Breed tastes nothing like I remember.

Certainly good. I love barrel proof whiskeys. The flavor was pleasant but slightly off for me in a way that is difficult to describe. If this is your easiest way to access a barrel proof bourbon then it’s a clear buy. Otherwise I’d prefer ECBP by a significant margin.
