Nose - Caramel, agave syrup, black pepper, orange peel Taste - Caramel, black pepper, cinnamon, hint of sliced red chilies, agave syrup, charred orange peel Finish - Caramel, vanilla, hints of agave syrup, cinnamon, orange Score - 88/100 Final Thoughts - The nose on this one felt a bit muted and actually only seemed to really open up after I took a small introductory sip. After that, the anejo tequila cask influence really opened up. I felt as if there was a fairly good balance here and the tequila cask influence imparted something unique to the bourbon, but it felt like it fought each other a bit. You get a slightly less sweet bourbon and hints of agave sweet with that agave tang and a hint of orange/cinnamon spice. Overall very pleasant and sippable, but if you're unaware, you might think your bourbon is a bit off. Would I drink it if offered? - Yes Would I specifically order it? - Maybe Would I buy a bottle? - No NOTE - All reviews are done without factoring in price.
