Yuu Baal Tepeztate

Region - San Juan del Rio Agave Age - 25 to 30 years Lot - YJ06-21 Bottle - 2974/3000 NOM - 072X Open 7 months Nose - Jalapeno, serrano, grilled pineapple, fresh flowers, mint, basil, salt, and light ethanol. Palate - Vegetal, jalapeno, light char, grilled pineapple, crushed mint, eucalyptus, strong mineral water, and juniper. Finish is long with lingering green vegetables and chili peppers, green pineapple, flower petals, pine needles, earthy salt, and medium ethanol. The nose on this is delightful, and it tastes great as well! I really love the few expressions I've tried of tepeztate. It is not easy to find in NC or OH, and typically you will pay well over $100. Luckily Yuu Baal is awesome and has all of these in 375 mL bottles. I have 3 of their bottles at the moment, and would love to find the Jabali and Ensamble. (The 375 mL bottle costs $49.99. I doubled it since the bottle option is meant for 700 or 750 mL sizes.)

Nose herbal, green wild agave, rubber, char and ash, a little sweet fruit and earthiness deep down. Palate smooth, slight smoke, herbal agave, earth. Peppery lingering finish.
