Barrell Craft Spirits has launched a Private Release Whiskey Series with 24 batches of Kentucky whiskey finished in a secondary cask. The oldest component in the batches will be 18 year-old Kentucky whiskey. Each batch will yield 150-180 bottles in total and will be bottled at cask strength. (Score: 3.9) Batch CJ14, very nice, quite smooth for such high proof. Rum sweetness comes thru big time in a good way, medium long finish. Unfortunately this follwed a great Oola private barrel with drastically different flavor profile, maybe could rate .25-.4 better if tasted separately.
