This is gewwwd... which btw is much better than ‘good’. The bottle looks sick, unless you’re into liquor-in-skull-shaped-bottle kinda person (in which case, you’re an aristocrat and this app is way beneath you).. and the taste is seriously respectable. The kind that you’d serve to someone to turn them into Mezcalites. Taste notes? It’s smoky for sure, and with a noticeable scent of tobacco... it’s also complex, not the kind with the overpowering taste of alcohol (even if that baby is 47%). It’s also sweet and a little tangy at the end. Bottom line: if you’re standing in front of the shelves looking at it, buy it and go with god my friend!
About this bottle
Bozal Mezcals, produced and distributed by 3 Badge Mixology, are distilled using traditional methods from wild, native agaves that grow in Oaxaca and Guerrero. Tobasiche is part of the Karwinskii Family of agaves, which takes 12 to 13 years to fully grow and be ready to harvest. Production is done at a distillery in San Baltazar, Oaxaca. The hearts are cooked in earthen pit ovens, crushed using a traditional horse pulled tehona, and double distilled in copper pot stills before bottling at 47% ABV.

It's minty with some green apple and bing cherry. There's some Sichuan peppercorns, but it's mild. There's a lot of bitter vegetal flavor in the vein of Band-Aids going on here, but it is less aggressive than in the Alipus San Miguel Sola. Overall, this drink lacks a lot of that mezcal smokey character, but it doesn't make up for it with another great flavor. It isn't even that interesting, so I'd rather not drink it ever.
A balanced, Mezcal by NOM-O363X crafted with wild Tobasiche, an agave that takes 12 to 13 years to fully mature; on the steep hillsides of Oaxaca & Guerrero, Mexico. It has a rich birth with notes of quince, anise & agave; while an exotic life adds notes of herbaceous botanicals, agave & savory smoke; that led to a mild & balanced death with notes of cedar & rich earth minerality. i had this on a first date and im not a complete barbarian as to take notes during that, but from what i tasted i was thoroughly impressed. rich roasted green and yellow peppers, nopal, turning into smokey, earthy snd mineral rich. There is almost a grittiness from the minerality that made the mouth feel incredible. Really starting to love agave karwinskii
This is definitely one of my favourites. Made using one Agave (karwinskii) this Mezcal takes you at every sips through a journey of flavours. Is just a full body mezcal that is always enjoyable to drink
Fruity on the nose but salt is first on the palate. Then some smoke and finally light citrus fruit, but the finish is briny just like Tobasiche should be. A great value 94
