In 1995, businessman Fernando Pernambuco brought the Rheem Metalúrgica factory to Patos de Minas to supply packaging for Cica. Engineer Antônio Caetano de Faria was his manager, and together they founded F Pernambuco LTDA, the former owner of the Cachaça Benvinda and Primeira Dama brands. Jequitibá Rosa wood was chosen for aging. With 38% alcohol content, the goal was to produce a special cachaça. Production began in 1999, and in 2005, American Steve Luttmann decided to purchase and found Maison Leblon in Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais, producing 350,000 liters per harvest under the supervision of Carlos Oliveira, production director, and Gilles Merlet, a French master blender renowned for his Cognacs. The multinational giant Bacardi joined them. One of the founders of Cachaça Benvinda, Fernando Faria, selected the harvest from three special barrels for aging. Their idea was to produce a 21-year-old spirit, like the world's finest whiskeys. Years later, in 2024, they achieved their goal and launched Cachaça Benvinda under a codename: the last harvest. Its only redesigned label, bottle, and cork met the demands of a market eager for new products. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional
