Casa Dragones Blanco use to be on a higher rung for me. As I have grown more attracted to agave forward expressions of agave, Dragones has really distinguished itself as a more earthy slightly bitter tasting tequila with flashes of sweet and minty notes. Overall the aroma is very nice with notes of cooked agave, green apple, pineapple, vanilla, smoke and slight vegetal nuances. On the palate we distinguish a rather strong medicinal and herbaceous component with flashes of cooked agave, mint, and dry earthy and cinnamon characteristics. As this tequila opens up a little more you will begin to notice the more sweet fruity characteristics that leave a nice smooth finish.
About this bottle
Casa Dragones Tequila Blanco is 100% Blue Agave manufactured in a thoroughly modern method. Instead of the traditional method of roasting and crushing the agave to extract the juices and sugars they send the raw agave to a diffusor which extracts the starches from the shredded raw agave by hot water. It is distilled multiple times in a column-still. It is then filtered through an "ultra-modern" filtration system.

When you pay big money, you expect big things. I must admit, I was very dissatisfied with this highly touted tequila. Based on the ratings on Distiller, many others apparently share my opinion. Maybe it is the “modern method” used to create this beverage that makes it fall short of expectations? All I know is it left me wanting to sample something else. May I suggest Casa Dragones Sipping Joven? It is so much better.
An elegant, Blanco Tequila by Tequila Casa Dragones in lowlands of Jalisco, Mexico. It has an aromatic birth with notes of agave, earth, fresh fruits, flowers & herbs; while a fresh life adds notes of green apple, grapefruit, cloves, black pepper & mint; that led to a delicate & slightly creamy death of medium length with notes of almond cream. Tried this in a Tequila Matchmaker blind tasting event and it was the one i scored the lowest due to its poor agave flavor and no character. Perfect example of a complete rip off
Heavy on agave flavor and alcohol burn. Light body doesn't leave a lingering finish. Disappointing for the price as much nicer tequila can be had for cheaper.
It's smooth... Has sweet start and a smooth, sweet finish... It's very pleasant and clean on the palate. The tequila nose and flavor is very pleasant.
