An intense Agave Spirit by NOM-O134X crafted with Espadin agave in a traditional underground pit & double distilled. It is allowed to rest for 3 months. It has an aromatic birth with notes of agave, fruits, herbs & spices; while a rich & complex life adds notes of citrus & pine; that led to a long & smoky death. April 2017
About this bottle
This is the debut expression for the brand. It is an ensamble style made from Espadín and Tobalá by a team led by mezcalero Javier Mateo in the town of Santiago Matatlán. The agave is roasted in a pit, crushed by tahona, and wild fermented. It is distilled in a copper pot still and aged for 60 days in glass before bottling.

Nose: Diesel, agave and carroway/antiseptic. Palate: viscous and potent. Alcohols are pronounced, smoky and herbaceous flavour with eucalyptus, hint of peach and sweet fruit and open fire. Finish: savoury and bone dry, long.
Nez : fumé, poivré, ça sent la ferme, peut-être le foin, en tout cas on sent l'agave Bouche : on retrouve le nez, longue finale fumêe
Flight pt 2. Refreshing fruity nose, melon, pineapple. Good mouthfeel, custardy sweetness, peach, smoke on the finish.
Fantastic smokey gasoline mezcal but not so up front that it can’t make a delicious mezcalrita!
Tried the Durango and Zacateca. Loved them both. Central Valleys was very rough
