About this bottle

Don Pancho Origenes 18 is a blend of rums aged a minimum of 18 years in American oak casks from Kentucky. Francisco Jose Fernandez Perez, also known as “Don Pancho” has over 50 years experience as a master blender and distiller; when he found the perfect mix of quality sugar and aging environment in Panama, he started his own distillery, aging and blending cellar there. The still is a copper column still, the last known functioning still, of its kind, in the world. The lengthy aging is constantly monitored and blended with the age statement referring to the minimum age of each rum in the final blend.

Stoicorum 3.0

Woody smell and latte macchiato Tastes of wood, dark bitter chocolate and toffee, roasted nuts. Excellent rum, but too much bite for my taste. This is an excellent whiskey to pair with a cigar though.

locorican68 3.8

On the nose I got tobacco and leather, which continued through the palate. The finish was smooth, leather, cacao. A very good sipper.

jev1313 4.3

Wonderful layers of flavor. Definitely dosed with extra sugar. If I had to guess 25 g/L. I taste some pecans on the finish.

tomrhoads 4.3

Very spicy. Almost black pepper from the wood. It reminded me a bit of a blanco tequila.

twostal 4.3

Tried neat awhile back thanks to my distributor friend, Tanya!

Didn’t care much for it tonight. Maybe my palate was off.
