Awesome versatile rum for unbeatable price tag. You can step up your Mojitos and Cuba libres with it or use it to train yourself for drinking rums neat. Rich rum taste, oaky but still with distinctive fruity sweetness. It's like Havana tried to do Spiced rum, with less annoying spicy taste and completely without spicing process (which covers up actual rum flavours).
Strong alcohol on the nose, hints of caramel and raisin. Somewhat bitter and hot on the palate, but the caramel is still there with the tiniest bit of tropical fruit. The finish is quick but the bitterness dissipates and you're left with a bland sweetness. Thought I would try it neat, and it's not terrible, but really is dying to be mixed into a Cuba Libre.
So unique. Had it with apple juice. Surprised it's not a spiced rum because it's packed with flavour. Giving Kraken some competition. Edit: I bought my own bottle and it doesn't taste like it did at the pub. Maybe something sweet got into the bottle the first time and now I'll sadly never be able to replicate that nectary goodness. Still nice though.
Mild vanilla on the nose that doesn't prepare you for the long lingering tingling taste it leaves on your lips and tounge. A lovely colour, good legs in the glass, a bargain at the price v
Not much more than molasses on the nose, extremely smooth on the palate with the perfect amount of sweetness, slight spice on the short finish.
Vanilla, brown sugar, butter - what I imagined rum would taste like when I was young and had yet to try any.
