A rich, XO Premier Cru produced using grapes from the Grande Champagne region; a blend of over 40 different cognacs, aged for over a decade. It opens spicy & peppery with notes of grape, dried fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg & a gentle floral aroma (lavender & jasmine); the palate is full & supple with notes of Crème fresh, toffee, perfume & spice; while the finish is long & delicate with notes of fruit, oak & vanilla. About this bottle
HINE Antique XO was first released in 1920 and was comprised of both eaux-de-vie from Petite and Grande Champagne regions. It is now comprised of only Grande Champagne with an average age of 20 years (and a minimum of 10 years). The wood used in the HINE Cognac house is mostly Tronçais oak (Limousin oak is most common) which is slower to grow which provides a tighter and finer grain. This equates to fewer tannins in the final product.
