Journeyman Distillery Corsets, Whips and Whiskey [Revolution Brewing Deth's Tar Finished, 2023]

Took a trip to Journeyman to pick up this annual release on release day 2023. This version is finished in Revolution Brewing’s Deth’s Tar barrels. Nose on this was high octane at first, but seemed to settle down some with time. First sip was HOT! But again, things improved with time. Either that or my senses went numb. I get a nice chocolate cherry flavor on the palate, fairly thin mouthfeel, and a medium length, warm, dry oak finish. Very satisfying pour, quite different from the standard expression of this whiskey, which is very good as well.
