La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is a vermouth brand developed by oenologist and distiller Jean-Sebastien Robicquet. It is made using Pineau des Charentes, an aperitif wine made from grape must and cognac eaux-de vie. For the Rouge version, white wine and red Pineau des Charentes is used along with 28 botanicals. No artificial coloring is used. The brand is named after Jean-Baptiste de la Quintinye, the botanist to King Louis XIV who created the Kitchen Gardens at the Palace of Versailles.

Herbal and sweet on the nose, lots of herbs, bark, Sprite, wood, hops. Sweet on the palate, cola, herbs, earth. Rich.
Caramel. Slightly sweet. Wood.
