I should point out I'm not a huge rye guy but this one is definitely my favorite I've tried so far. I was hesitant because I didn't think much of the Michter's 10 year bourbon despite liking some of their other items. Nose: Some grassy herbaceous notes that I always expect from a rye, some sweet notes, barrel char and wood smoke, and toasted almonds. Flavor: Spicy notes, leather, more toasted nuts, sweet caramelized sugar in the background, herbaceous flavors, and a nice oily texture that I really liked. Finish: Spicy rye punch with deep dark flavors like dark chocolate, bitter wood notes like coffee but pleasant, a long spicy finish that I really enjoyed. This was my favorite rye to date and if it wasn't so expensive and hard to find I think I'd go out and give it a buy.

Barrel 21E1540 Deep, reddish copper color. The nose is incredibly inviting and reminds me of mulled wine, with toasted cinnamon stick, candied orange peel, red grapes, cherry cordials, whole cloves and a hint of chocolate peppermint candy. Full-bodied mouthfeel, drinks hotter than 46%. The palate hits you first with a bit of tannic oak that quickly transitions to cinnamon, clove, cherry cola, white pepper and leather, with hints of spearmint and anise. The medium-long finish is dry and mildly tannic, with lots of baking spice, leather, cocoa powder and oak. Very balanced and consistent from nose to finish.
Nose- Heavy vanilla, cherry, orange zest, wood spice, lavender oil, dark fruits Palate- Baking spices initially, chocolate covered oranges, caramelized sugar, mint, oak Finish- Long, thin finish with notes of baking spices, herbal mint, and vanilla This stuff is good. Perfectly balanced just like M10 bourbon. I could easily sip on this every day. Great notes of baking spices, herbal mint, and vanilla. The vanilla is apparent throughout the entire experience and one of the most pronounced vanilla smells i’ve ever had
This smells so much better than it tastes, which is a bit disappointing in the end. Nose: caramel, maple syrup, nutmeg, and French toast crunch cereal, because the nose is almost artificial Taste: too light and mild overall. Mostly just a pinch of rye spice profile, cocoa powder, brown sugar. I'm really reaching here to find anything descriptive. It's smooth but boring. Overall, there's nothing about this that makes me want to come back for more. Overrated is an understatement
TONS of butterscotch on the nose. Man, I could smell this thing all day. So rich and full. Butterscotch continues into the palate, which is where the rye also comes to play. Finish is a little thin, but it’s got a pleasant spice and is nice and aromatic. I rated it the same, but I like this one a bit more than the 10-year bourbon.
**2023** Nose - Lots of cherry and rye spice. Mint comes in alongside with deep oak and light leather. Palate - Lots of rye man but its good, light honey and light cherry come with the herbal notes. Some bubble gum notes. Finish - Finish is nice and light, more herbal vanilla and bubblegum picks.
