Mono de Calenda Cucharillo, Reserva del Maestro

Tried neat thanks to @Looneyhead who brought this mini back from Oaxaca. It is very earthy on the nose with notes of agave, vanilla, mint, green apple, and wood but when I say wood I mean the sticks you pick up as a kid or the stick your dog is chewing on… not that fresh barrel wood ha. On the palate it’s a typical mezcal and then I read Jared’s rubber and now I smell it and can’t get it off my palate either ha 😂😮‍💨. It was about to have a higher rating for sureeee.

Nose of mint, earth, petrichor, citrus, apple, charred wood, grape, Teddy Grahams. On the palate char, minerals, rubber, wood, apple, agave. Long médium hot finish. @twostal
