Nose: Even though this is a Barrel Strength whisky the nose is nice and friendly to your nose. The notes are young and earthy with caramel corn, a hint of orange, and fresh cut hay. Pallet: This drink in nice and clean with the heat of cinnamon and the corn stands out with a hint of white pepper. Being a Barrel Strength it is hot, but it is also smooth. The burn stops at just the right spot on the back of the tongue while the rest of the of the journey is nice and smooth. Finish: The cinnamon hangs out on the tongue nicely and in the right spot to complete the storm of flavors when it is met with the remnants of the nose. As the cinnamon starts to fade the taste of fresh from the stalk raw corn from the cob makes a showing with a sweet, creamy, all natural finish.

The nose is very upfront with spice and vanilla, over top baking spices, floral rye and oak. The palate is somewhat dry and leaves the spice at the very front while oak and vanilla move towards the back as molasses and burnt brown sugar coat everywhere in between. The finish is medium with a lingering spice and a floral, somewhat creamy oak fading.
Full candied and vanilla up front, with a caramel spice on the mouth then it has a nice long sweet finish with a mid to warm hug.. You can feel the proof, but its not hot! I’m a neat guy by choice… and just as i say this, my lips went numb.. this is a good pour! cheers!
Why are 2-3 year old bourbons charging a premium again? The high proof hides a slew of imperfections. A few drops of water brings those out. Nose: vanilla, corn, oak Taste: hot cinnamon Finish: short $20 Heaven Hill beats this easy.
Batch #16, 116 proof. Great rich full bodied taste profile. Lots of vanilla with light caramel. Some grassy notes with a bit of spice. Nice bottle for $59.99
Spicy up front, good burn like a barrel strength should. Vanilla forward, almost get a graham cracker flavor through the middle. Very good
