Light candied fruit aroma. Strong alcohol burn destroys any enjoyment for this as a sipper! I can't really get a good flavor profile...sweetened rubbing alcohol? Does way better as a mixer with floral sweetness. I'd only use it for mixing but at this price point it's not worth it at all. One can readily get two or three bottles of something far more palatable -- for sipping and/or mixing -- for the cost of this single bottle. Rating is based on neat sipping.
About this bottle
The Centuria is a solera-type blend of rums from the "Reserva de la Familia" aged up to 30 years in American whiskey barrels. Varela Hermanos, the distillery in Panama that produces this and other rum products, grows its own cane and controls the entire subsequent process from fermentation and distillation to ageing and assembly.

This is a supreme rum. Sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg on the nose. On the palate, this is silky, smooth, with a little coffee and the finish is amazing. A little spicy and medium lasting. This rum will not disappoint.
Fruity nose of banana and hints of tropical fruits. Sweet up front on the palate with a surprising punch of cinnamon followed by ripe fruit and a brown sugar finish. Long lingering finish to keep you company.
A majestic drink, whose age tamed the youthful verve - and in my opinion the drink's weakness. Very elegant, very well arranged and thus a bit boring?
Rich and smooth. Can taste strong (but good) coffee, chocolate, and toffee with maybe a little bit of but. Very good
Incredible! Love the subtle hogo!
