About this bottle

The fourth and final seasonal bottled-in-bond bourbon from Still Austin is a Straight Rye Whiskey. It's made with 100% Texas-grown rye — the same mash bill recipe as the brand's The Artist Straight Rye. It follows the bottled in bond regulations so it's the product of one distillation season from one distiller, is aged for at least 4 years in a federally bonded warehouse, and is bottled at 100 proof. Barrels were selected by Head Distiller John Schrepel and Master Blender Nancy Fraley. Available for purchase online and at select retail locations in March 2024. (SRP $79.99)

NEAT NOSE - Apricot, Apples, Caramel, Cinnamon, and Brown Sugar PALATE - Smooth and oily mouthfeel. Cinnamon, Honey, Apple, and rye spice on the palate. FINISH - Long OVERALL - This is a definite buy, especially if you’re trying to finish out the series.

Been up and down on ryes recently but this one hits closer to the mark. Not always a fan of too much apple flavor in Ryes but this one works, it’s not overpowering. Still Austin continues to put out great stuff.

Nose is floral, minty, green apple, very nice. Taste: sharp, spicy up front. Continues with grass notes, banana, green iced tea. Finish: little tannic, medium. Not bad but not great. I like it

Osw: strong spearmint, underneath some hay and citrus, grain forward. Palette: slight brown sugar with more spearmint, oily, grain notes with a sugary backbone. Not too spicy, but more sweet.
