Wow this is a spectacular blanco. I gave it 5 stars as it's the best I've ever had. I've always been a cask strength/high proof kind of guy. Options are limited in Canada. This tapatio delivers on all cylinders. Great agave, citrus, pepper, clean flavors... just wow.
About this bottle
While high proof tequila is not uncommon in Mexico, it has not been imported to the US until now. Tapatio is a collaboration between Marko Karakasevic of Charbay Distillery & Winery in Napa, CA and Carlos Camarena, whose family has a long tradition of distilling in Mexico. Bottling at this proof is meant to capture the truest essence of the agave without watering it down. Additive free.

Tapatio 110 “83” Nose: Cooked Agave Smoke Pepper Citrus Palette: That nice oily mouthfeel I’m looking forward to Cooked agave Alcohol Pepper - tad hot at first Mexican mint lime Pepper burn is enhanced on the 110 and provides a long finish
Vegetal, oily, little bit of green pepper. Finish gets a little earthier with some cinnamon and pepper. Not my favorite still strength by any means, but it's an outstanding candidate for a goto cocktail tequila.
Very good with notes of cooked agave, mint, anise, pineapple, citrus, melon, a hint of pepper, and buttery floral notes.
Salty dried lime nose. Initially oily but finishes thin and dry. Peppery warmth. Grilled fruits. Solid.
Once you use this for margaritas you’ll never go back
