Another quick hit on this one. I missed supporting the local distilleries, and it was good to get out to one for the first time since January. This was admittedly better than their grain to glass bourbon, but largely because part of the blend is sourced from Heaven Hill, and that nutty Elijah Craig profile really pops through. That being said, I feel like these Texas whiskies (the bourbons in particular) don’t hold up so well when they’re proofed down. It really exposes their age. Cask strength may be the way to go if you’re hunting down a Texas bourbon.

Nose-Oak, spice, and caramel Mouth-feel— medium-full bodied, oily, silky, and balanced. Hides it’s alcohol well Palate– sweet and round, good integration of spice. Medium complexity.
Not much of a nose, but the terrific, oily mouthfeel makes up for it. Front hints of cinnamon spice with a slightly sweet vanilla finish.
Cherry again like thier bourbon but not as thick. Rye spive element but smoothed over. slight honey. no burn.
Typical sweet bourbon but what stood out for me was the bubble gum taste.
Vanilla nose, cinnamon vanilla brown sugar palette, boozy spicy finish
