An intense, Rye Whiskey by Master Blender Christopher Cohen for Carl Bender founder of Treasure Island Distillery on Treasure Island, San Francisco Bay; it is a high rye whiskey with a mashbill of 92% 9-year-old rye, 8% 13-year-old corns, with some of the juice being aged in the Hoffmeister Barrels for additional 14 months. It has a spicy birth with hints of coriander, nutmeg & dark cherry; while a rich life adds notes of caramel, vanilla, parsley, hints of cream & dark red fruit; that led to a long & full death with notes of rye & pepper. Each batch of Bender's 7 year rye is slightly different. Batch 002 has a mashbill of 92% rye and 8% corn. This second batch has some 9-year old whiskey in it where the first batch did not. It was distilled in Alberta, Canada using local grains. The blending and bottling happens at the Treasure Island Distillery in California.

Not actually drinking batch 2, that’s just the only option on here. Perfumy, crayon scent on the nose. The flavor is something I absolutely can’t place but it’s very unique. I’m a fan
The nose is a little off for me. But the palate delivers. Light body, pretty big flavor. Spices, cinnamon candy, honeyed apricots.
One of the best Ryes I’ve tasted. Very smooth. Carmel, Apple, vanilla, cherry
Mostly uninteresting but would make good mixer.
