Desert Door Back Burn Sotol

Crystal clear. Aroma of agave (sotol, obviously, but this actually smells like tequila), wood smoke, cedar, earth, pepper and finally a bit of orange. A little sweet, evergreen, spicy, peppery and slightly smoky. Smooth and complex. Lucky find as the distillery was handing out samples at Total Wine. Per the label it appears this may be a one time release, but I hope not.

Tried pool side with @Looneyhead On the nares it is very “tequila like” with notes of wood, evergreen trees, and citrus. On the palate it’s like Christmas in the mouth with notes of wood, citrus, and and pine nuts.

Nice citrus back end.
