Machetazo Cupreata

Super weird one here. Don’t see this agave a lot around liquor stores. Sweet, floral in the beginning which quickly turns to some real strange flavors. Grapefruit, herbality, a dark cocoa, hints of dark espresso, maybe even some wasabi? The finish is relatively short, slightly sweet, low almost negligible amounts of smoke (not a bad thing), lacking minerality and is heavy on the cocoa. is this an everyday drinker like an espadin? I probably couldn’t, but what I will say is it’s a super strange mezcal that I can say I enjoyed trying at least once!

Pretty weird mezcal. Not too much burn at the end but more bitter. I personally would not get again but it was a interesting flavor for sure.

Muted, clean agave nose. Agave, honeydew, white pepper, minerals. Light body. Clean, quick finish.
