AnttiRG 4.0

An elegant, Espadin Cuishe Ensamble Mezcal by the Garcia Morales Palenque Distillery in Oaxaca, Mexico made with Agave Espadin & Agave Cuishe using the traditional Zapotec recipes & methods. The Morales family roast them in an earthen pit & use wild yeast for fermentation in an ancient copper still. It has an aromatic birth with notes of agave, vanilla, honey, baking yeast & dill; while a rich & balanced life adds notes of roasted agave, pepper, chalk & salt; that led to a long & warm death. My first time drinking a mezcal, so I might be unfamiliar with the normal tastes. This is like drinking a campfire. There's not the burn I was expecting and is smooth. I won't let this turn me off to trying other mezcals, but I can't say this is one I will turn to in the future.

Helverson 4.3

Nose - heavily roasted, sweet, salty Palate - salty, roasted, sweet and tasty Finish - sharp and flavorful then a quick dead stop, salty and actually really like it Overall - really good, just a great blend of the roasted sweet flavor and a kick of salt

scedwin 3.5

Really smooth with a very light smoke. Drinks more like a quality, rich bodied tequila blanco with benefits…which compels me to experiment and try in place of such for more flavor and complexity within the right mixes.

Mezcal flight pt 1. Agave on the nose, a bit earthy. Palate starts out sweet, a little harsh on the first sip. Earthy. Vegetal finish, with a little smoke. It's OK, but probably not one I'll come back to.

Aged One 4.5

Sweeter agave funk nose. Sweet vegetal. Touch of bubblegum. Balanced with a little heat. Mild hints of smoke throughout and nicely added to the finish.
