About this bottle
Martell is the oldest of the "Big Four" Cognac houses (the other three being Courvoisier, Hennessy, and Rémy Martin), dating back to 1715. Their founder was Jean Martell, a man born in Jersey (not to be confused with New Jersey, USA; but rather Jersey the Channel Island between England and France. Their L'or (meaning "gold") was first launched in 1992 and is a blend of hundreds of old and rare of eaux de vie from the Grande Champagne and Borderies regions, some dating back as far as 1871.
