I think the crowd is too hard on Ojo. This is approachable, low proof, entry level mezcal. Like a par 3, 9 hole golf course… sometimes you want to leave the bag at home and just carry a 7 iron. I don’t fault this sip. It’s almost grappa-like in character.

If you want to know what a mezcal tastes like, the most basic idea of it, this is it. Flavor profile-wise, it’s a pretty mild or even commercial mezcal. It’s also thick, which makes it feel very inexpensive. Verdict: commercial and barely has any taste.
A decent mezcal. Medium smokiness with a bit of citrus sweetness, a dash of minerality as well which I’m guessing is from the Tobala. Relatively light on the palate probably from the low proof, it is a mild sipping mezcal.
- nose - smoke and meat - Palate - smoke, salt - Finish - very smooth absolutely no bite throughout, surprisingly tasty and savory - Overall - amazing - could have this with lots of foods and just a lot in general
Very mild flavored mezcal. I like mine with more smoke and flavor. Haven't tried in cocktails yet. Nose: Fruity and Clay Taste: Light, Fruit, Minerality Finish: Slight smoke and a bitter taste
It has a clear appearance. The aroma is of succulent vegetative notes. The flavor is of mild smoke, earthiness, and savory vegetable. It has a light-to-medium body and a mostly-dry finish. RJT
