The nose is sweet with some umami and agave and pepper. The palate is sweet with a white pepper spice and a bunch of fruitiness that gives way to some more stewed agave and some of that Don Julio flavor. Yeah, you know the one. It's sweet and spicy. The stewed agave lingers. There's some hints of licorice and spearmint in here too that make it interesting, though not exceptional. Definitely has that Don Julio cardboard. Is fairly rich and viscous. There's a lot of sweetness that just avoids tasting artificial, but it doesn't taste all that matured. There's some decent complexity that beats El Jimador Reposado, but it sure better at this price. I'm not sure whether or not this is as good as Jimidor Añejo. The Blanco has more of a rubber and pepper element than this does. Actually, that rubber in the Blanco really stands out in comparison, making the Blanco rather unpalatable. Still, the blanco is at least strong with some herbal vegetal characteristic. This is a big improvement over the blanco. It's surprising how different they are with only 2 months of aging. Actually, it's surprising that 2 months is enough to qualify as a reposado at all. This is lighter than Embajador premium with more cinnamon (though not in an incredibly spicy way), clove, and floral flavors. The light flavor is nice and sweet with a decent balance. I'd prefer something a bit richer, but this is frankly pretty good. Jimador Añejo takes some more gambles and has a more rich and robust baking spice flavor to it. Between the two, if hazard to say that the Jimador is a bit better. This has a punchier, spicier tequila flavor, but its alcohol also stands out more. The Blanco patron has a lot more nice oiliness with umami herbal and vegetal flavors like Fortaleza Blanco has. The palate has that patrón spice with some more earth accentuating the caramel agave flavor. It's sweeter and more aged tasting, but it's also more numbing with a bit of clove flavor and a faint hint of mint. It isn't that interesting. It's about the same quality as the blanco, but less interesting. The finish is over too soon.

Nose - fungal earthiness, vegetal funk, subtle vanilla, chili pepper, clay, clove, cooked agave, nutmeg, green pepper, decomposing grass, old wood, moderate ethanol burn. Taste - green pepper, nutmeg, clove, fungal notes, cooked agave, chili pepper, ginger, mint, prickly pear, green wood, tobacco, vanilla, caramel, apple, moderate alcohol bite, finishing medium length with chili pepper, cooked agave, and vegetal funk flavors. This is definitely less boring than Patron Silver, but I’m not sure it’s better. There’s more sweetness here, but also more fungal, vegetal, grassy funk. There’s this prickly pear, green wood vibe going on that I also find in Don Julio Añejo, although not quite as pronounced here. I’ll give it the same score as the Silver. Solid tequila, but significantly overpriced.

Neat. Nose is very faint. No ethanol burn, citrus peel, white pepper, oak. Taste starts a little sweet, but quickly becomes bitter. Citrus rind, tamarind, bitter orange, white pepper, anise, a little vanilla Longish finish of orange rind, saccharine, and french oak. Mouthfeel is thin and finishes very dry. No 'Curevo Gold bite' whatsoever I feel like I'm supposed to hate this, but I don't. I haven't tasted a tequila quite like this. Dry, bitter, citrusy. I can definitely see how the bitterness would turn off a lot of people that love a nice rich fruity tequila. This is a 180 from something like a Clase Azul Rep. Fans of a dry IPA or a Belgian Wit, with an orange, just might like this.

Take my advice........this is a rail drink. There are better selections out there. Don't be fooled by commercialism. If you go to Mexico, you will notice the difference. In the good ole USA, they've diluted it and stomped on it it tastes like. Its too bitter for my palate. When i first started drinking tequila, this was the goto choice, until i started sampling all the tequilas starting from the top shelf of my local liquor store. Thats when i realized there are significantly more selections out there. This, to me, is not good enough for a backup and its still priced and placed on the top shelf. No bueno.

On the nose is fresh, sweet, fruity agave and a hint of oak with subtle vanilla interwoven amongst the sour citrus aromas in the background, and a touch of fresh cut chili peppers. - On the palate I get dusty white pepper, oak, vanilla, light fruit, agave, chili pepper flakes, pineapple, lemon juice, and honey. A lot going on in the palate! Considerable spice compared to the silver. - The finish has a spicy pepper tingle, clean wood flavour, and a faint floral note appearing with the sweet vanilla.

It’s the quintessential tequila! No overly powering flavors of sweets, the agave is center stage. Excellent way to get the party started. Great for sipping or shots and the best for a top shelf margarita. Has a heat to it which you would expect from a tequila, but is also very smooth with a light agave sweetness. Some ethanol on the smooth finish.
