Aromas are brown sugar, butter with a hint of molasses. Flavors are similar to nose, butter comes out more, add in some spice. Moderately sweet with a little burn in the finish. Decent but not great.
About this bottle
Plantation Fiji 2005 is a vintage release from the brand for its Birds of Paradise limited edition collection. It features rum distilled in triple column stills at The Rum Co. of Fiji. The rum was aged for 14 years in ex-bourbon barrels in Fiji before it was recasked and aged for an additional year in French oak Maison Ferrand casks in their cellars in Cognac, France. Only 28 casks were produced and it was bottled at 50.2% ABV. It was released in Europe in July 2020 and the US in October 2020.

Heavy in the alcohol (49,5%!). Once accustomed to that: banana, peach, apricot, bergamot, nice length, something to savour, not to mix with.
It’s amazing! So smooth, despite if it’s high ABV I did not feel any unpleasant burn.
