An intense, 'Dark Rum by Stolen Spirits in the USA. They start with a column-distilled Rum from Trinidad, made from locally sourced sugar cane & molasses. It is then aged for up to 2 years in x-American oak whiskey barrels. They then infuse the Rum using re-fractionated Colombian Arabica coffee, wholly distilled from same day roasted beans; complemented by premium Madagascan vanilla beans & Moroccan fenugreek. The Rum is rounded off with notes of American hardwood, acquired through a smoking process called pyrolysis—the burning of hardwood in the absence of oxygen.' It has an aromatic birth with notes of freshly brewed Colombian Arabica coffee; while rich & creamy life adds notes of roasted caramel, Madagascan Vanilla beans & Moroccan Fenugreek; that led to a long & warm death with notes of spices, orange, tomato, bread, smoke & American hardwood. Ugh this is brutally bad. I like heavy smoke in my scotch and mezcal but this tastes so artificial it’s undrinkable. I’ve been using it for an “old fashioned” that’s not terrible but eventually mixed it with cheaper rum to balance it out. Just awful, will never buy again.
Stolen tastes like the smell of fresh coffee grinds, with a hint of vanilla and subtle smoke. A smooth blend for the price.
Insanely smokey. Drinking this neat is a challenge, but a welcome one. One of a kind rum.
Good for what it is. Excited to try some smoky coke in the future.
Super Smokey, not bad with an ice cube but still pretty harsh.
